Straßenfotografie lebt durch ihre Momenthaftigkeit, durch surreale und komische, irritierende oder faszinierende, schöne, groteske, minimalistische, überfüllte sowie gegensätzliche Szenarien. Sie feiert die Kunst, zur richtigen Zeit am richtigen Ort zu sein, um genau diesen kurzen Augenblick einzufangen, der so kein zweites Mal existieren wird. Mal klammheimlich aufgenommen, mal in direkter Interaktion entstehen hier Bilder, die scheinbar Banales in seiner Besonderheit zeigen.

1985 Fotografen aus 83 Ländern haben im vergangenen Jahr 23.350 Street Photos hochgeladen. In diesem Bildband finden sich 120 Fotografien von 103 Fotografen aus 30 Ländern. Von Australien bis Vietnam reicht die Bandbreite der, im diesjährigen World Street Photography 6 – Katalog vertretenen, Nationen. Das Buch hat 152 Seiten.

Im Rahmen der Ausstellungseröffnung präsentieren wir das von GUDBERG NERGER publizierte Buch „World Street Photography 6“ in Kooperation mit der internationalen Fotocommunity world-street.photography.

Ein Teil des Erlöses aus dem Verkauf des Buches wird an die Ashalayam – House of Hope Hilfsorganisation gespendet, die sich für die Bildung, die Sicherheit, den Schutz und eine Unterkunft für die Straßenkinder von Kolkata in Indien einsetzt.

The art of street photography, the technique of photographing human interactions in a public place, is a term that means different things to different photographers. From those who prefer the surreptitious capture of their subjects to those who communicate directly with the strangers they are photographing, street photography as an art form is varied and conflicted in its approach to the world.

The images in this great yearbook and exhibition take viewers on a journey around the world and inspire their own stories – both visibly and invisibly.

World Street Photography 6 contains an unparalleled collection of all that is current in street photography. It represents the very best in international street photography.

1985 photographers from 83 countries uploaded 23350 street photos the past year. In the book there are 120 photos made made by 103 photographers from 30 countries. The WSP 6 book has 152 pages.

The book is curated and created by the „Kujaja.com“ team. Proceeds from this book will be donated to the Ashalayam – House of Hope charity organization. Ashalayam provides education, safety, protection, and shelter to the street children of Kolkata, India.
